BAMYAN RENEWABLE ENERGY PROJECT
KCS is providing technical and management capacity building support for the local electrical operator (Da Afghanistan Beshna Sherkat) of a 1.05 MW solar energy project supplying electricity to Bamyan Centre township.
The programme goal is to improve sustainable economic returns by targeting agricultural practices, access to technologies, improving irrigation resources, developing rangelands and pasture management establishing and supporting small business enterprise and developing institutional capacity within local stakeholders including cooperatives, education providers and the Department of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock. KCS is the implementing partner for the programme.
The project is financing improvements to the availability and use of water resources for irrigated agriculture, urban water supply, and power generation for Kandahar province, Afghanistan. KCS is providing technical expertise, risk management, and logistics and life support assistance.
